Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Sheikh Zayed Mosque is the largest in the world with a magnificent structure and a beautiful garden. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nayhan the first president of UAE is the founder of this magnificent structure. This Grand Mosque was completed in 2007. Apart from being a place of worship, it has cultural landmarks attracting thousands of visitors from all across the globe.
The mosque was built with a vision of promoting tolerance, cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence. The mosque has a perfect fusion of Islamic architectural styles blended seamlessly with modern elements. It's spread over a vast area such that more than 41000 worshippers can be accommodated with 5 6 2 7 square metres of carpet. Located in Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, the mosque is open from 9:00. in the morning to 9:00. in the night, Saturday to Thursday and from 4.30 in the evening on Fridays. It's easily reachable by car.
The interior decor is a sight to behold with intricate mosaic patterns and floral motifs. It has 82 domes with a maximum height of 85 meters making it the world's largest Mosque dome.
